The Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan recently gave an interview in which he said that there were going to be check-ups in the universities in February. The journalist’s question was: “Isn’t this a warning for the universities to work in support of the RPA?”
“Of course not. The law by which we will start the check-ups has been passed in 2011. If you think that I am that cautious to decide what kind of tools to have a year prior to the elections, then you are overestimating me and underestimating the RPA. The political processes lead to the fact that the Republican Party of Armenia and its leader have the best opportunities in the history of today’s Armenia to prove that we are able to carry out the best elections and we never needed any administrative tools and will not need in future either.” he answered.
Referring to the February check-ups, Ashotyan said that it will last till May and the decisions about shutting down any of the institutions will be made by then, so that they have time to solve the problems concerning the students by the summertime.
