Head of the Iranian Agriculture Ministry’s Department on the Eastern Azerbaijan, Masoud Mohhamadian reported that Iran and Armenia will sign a new agreement in the agricultural sector. The agreement will be signed during the visit of the head of Armenia’s Syunik region to the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan.
“Under the agreement, in exchange for pastures in Armenia, agricultural machinery (tractors, etc.) produced in this province would be supplied to Armenia,” Mohhamadian said.
According to Mohhamadian, Iran will also build a meat-packing plant in Gerus in Armenia as well as a center for the production of food in Garakilse village in Sisian region, where Iranian and Armenian businessmen will engage in joint activity.
