Georgian media reports that country’s PM Bidzina Ivanishvili urged the population to refrain from provocations, but the law enforcement bodies – to rapidly investigate the incident in Kutaisi.
The incident has recently occurred in Kutaisi. A crowd gathered and demanded the resignation of the President. At first, these individuals did not allow the president to leave the office of the United National Movement. Afterwards, the guard was able to bring the president out. These individuals threw stones at the president’s car and inflicted the physical abuse to member of United National Movement Akaki Minashvili.
“We represent the responsible authority and condemn any aggression,” said Ivanishvili, adding “Aggression and confrontation against the opponents, unfortunately, were common practice before and today we get the results of this. I urge the people to refrain from any kind of confrontation and not to succumb to provocations.”
