US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar stated that further diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan will open up great prospects for long-term development and will allow to become one of the most economically developed countries in the world.
“The future of Azerbaijan is in the diversification of the economy, as the country’s revenues from the oil sector in the longer term will be reduced,” said the ambassador on Wednesday at a meeting of the Caspian European Integration Business Club (CEIBC).
The source reports that the CEIBC meeting was devoted to the prospects of the Azerbaijani economy and US-Azerbaijani cooperation. Ambassador Morningstar was announced an honorary member of the club.
The Ambassador expressed his confidence that the steps of the Azerbaijani government to develop non-oil sectors of the economy will allow Azerbaijan not only to establish itself in the position of economic leadership in the region, but also join the ranks of the most advanced countries of the world.
