Today President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin.
The source reports that the Head of State stressed the importance of successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and all federal subjects of Russia including Astrakhan region.
He recalled his visit to Astrakhan and the inauguration of the monument to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev there, noting that over the last years cooperation between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan has significantly grown.
Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin, in turn, emphasized that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan region increased with a dynamic development of economic ties between the two countries.
He also stressed the importance of major environmental and humanitarian projects being implemented in Astrakhan region upon the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in order to expand bilateral cooperation.
