Secretary General Valery Chechelashvili the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development believes that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in the organization was very successful.
“Many important events have been held the last one being in Dublin, where a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers took place. The Azerbaijani chairmanship ended in New York on a very good note. A resolution was adopted by consensus on cooperation between the UN and GUAM, which strengthens our credibility, reputation and position in the system of international relations,” said Chechelashvili.
Recall that Azerbaijan presided over the organization in 2012. The GUAM Secretary General is in Baku to attend the fifth meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization.
According to Azerbaijani sources they will discuss issues connected with previous events and prospects of future cooperation.
