Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili said that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin or Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is not planned at the moment or for the near future, but he hopes that the meeting will take place.
“We do not consider such a plan, but I hope that such a meeting will take place in the near future,” – said Ivanishvili to the reporters on December 18.
According to Bidzina Ivanishvili, the main thing in relations with Russia is that the first meeting was already held (Zurab Abashidze and Gregory Karasin). “The main thing is that the first meeting took place, and that the process has started,” – said the prime minister.
He did not specify exactly when the next meeting could be held, but stressed that Zurab Abashidze and Karasin hold constant connection and the next meeting is likely to take place no later than in two months.
“All our actions are transparent, we must be consistent and principled in all our actions, including relations with Russia, and the public will understand it all,” – said Ivanishvili.
