RA former Foreign Minister, PAP MP Oskanian wrote on his Facebook-page:
“Prosperous Armenia” party’s decision not to run in the presidential elections to be held in February and not to support any candidate was not easy.
Of course, there were different opinions in the political council.
Months ago, I had made my opinion public that the PAP should nominate its own candidate in presidential elections, taking into account the party’s weight, ratings, as well as the possibility of being an alternative and reaching an agreement on a single candidate.
PAP council, taking into consideration the situation of the political arena, the difficulties for the possibility of a single candidate and Gagik Tsarukyan’s decision not to run, found appropriate not to nominate a candidate or support any other candidate in the presidential election.
Although, I imagined our steps and further struggle in other way, I respect this decision.
