Today President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor at the United States Department of State, Thomas Melia and his accompanying delegation.
Thomas Melia presented members of the delegation to President Ilham Aliyev. The purpose of their visit to Azerbaijan is to exchange views on definition of new directions of partner relations with regional countries.
Assistant administrator of the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia of the U.S. Agency for International Development Paige Alexander said the organization that she represents would further continue social and humanitarian projects in Azerbaijan.
According to President Ilham Aliyev, relationship between Azerbaijan and the United States was developing successfully and good opportunities exist to broaden cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US in all spheres, including political, economic, security ones. Aiyev expressed confidence the visit of the US delegation to Azerbaijan would contribute to developing bilateral relationship even further.
