In Dublin the OSCE Minsk group (MG) made a common statement on Armenian-Azerbaijani and Nagorno Karabakh conflict resolution. The member parties to the OSCE MG urged both sides to demonstrate political will to come to the peaceful conflict resolution. They refer to the Helsinki act which excludes a conflict resolution by means of use of power, threat to the use of power, territorial integrity and the right to the self-determination of the people.
It was also mentioned that no significant progress in the process of conflict resolution has been achieved since 2011 and any of the sides was more concerned with its interests’ protection rather than showing willingness to come to an agreement. The OSCE Minsk group also reminded that the peaceful population must not suffer because of the use of power and that the latter is by no means a solution to the problem.
As a conclusion, the MFAs of Armenia and Azerbaijan are to meet in 2013 to go on with the solution seeking negotiations.
