Vice-Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, member of the governing Republican Party (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov called “shameful” the statement on the visit of the leader of “Prosperous Armenia” Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan to Brussels. In the interview with reporters on December 6 Sharmazanov noted that the statement is aimed at an internal audience and is a theatrical performance.
“We do not say that in Europe believe that the PAP had success due to populist politics, and we do not say that, in the opinion of our European colleagues, the PAP has no internal democracy, and in this regard, some European politicians refused to meet with the leader of “Prosperous Armenia”, “- said the representative of the Republican Party.
According to him, many European parliamentarians believe “Prosperous Armenia” to be an artificial political power, and the knowledge of its leader in world politics to be weak.
As for the issue of support from the “Prosperous Armenia” for the candidacy of the incumbent president, vice-speaker said that the Republican Party is implementing its policy and now the candidate of the Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan is unrivaled and out of competition.
