The Department of Public and Media Relations of the Staff of the President informs that President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a working visit to Turkmenistan, participated in the Council of Heads of the CIS member states in Ashgabat.
In the narrow and extended sessions the heads of delegations of the CIS member states met to discuss and adopt around two dozen documents on the economic and humanitarian cooperation, security cooperation, and cooperation in a number of other areas. It was decided to hold the next summit of CIS heads of member states on October, 2013, in Minsk. The CIS presidency was conveyed to the Republic of Belarus.
In Ashgabat President Serzh Sargsyan had a short meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders discussed a number of issues related to the Armenian-Russian strategic relations.
