On December 5, the president of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Ioannis Tais. This was reported by the RA NA Department of Public and Media Relations.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the NA President congratulated him on his appointment and expressed his belief that his activities will influence the further strengthening of the Armenian-Greek bilateral relations. He said the traditional friendly relations between Armenia and Greece is an important guarantee for the further development and deepening of cooperation in various fields. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that Armenia attaches importance to the development of multilateral relations with Greece. He also praised the Armenian-Greek parliamentary cooperation, mutual visits, and activities of friendship groups.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador noted that Armenia and Greece are traditional friendly countries, and the friendship between the peoples of the two friendly countries comes from the ancient times. The Ambassador said that during his serving he will do everything possible to deepen and develop the Armenian-Greek relations. Mr. Tais also stressed the importance of further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, which, according to him, would contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
