Georgian media reports that Secretary of Georgian National Security Council, Giga Bokeria and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin discussed processes progressing after the parliamentary elections held in Georgia and agenda of the working group, functioning under U.S.-Georgia Charter on Strategic Partnership.
As reported, the meeting was attended by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Evelyn Farkas, Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia, Batu Kutelia and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Richard Norland.
The meeting participants stressed that the further deepening of cooperation in defense and security is an important factor not only for security of Georgia and its Euro-Atlantic integration, but also for regional stability.
The meeting considered also important foreign-policy issues as the Geneva consultations and Georgian-Russian relations.
The sides focused on the elections held in Georgia and the processes developing after them.
