The ongoing negotiations between Russia and Azerbaijan on Gabala radar station are in the final stage, and the parties reached an agreement. This was stated by the Azerbaijani parliament’s security and defense committee member Zahid Oruj.
“It’s hard to say that everything was agreed during negotiations. It is not only the issue of technical usage of a radar system, now it has become more of a political issue. All these questions will be decided in early December.
Russia is interested in prolonging the agreement, but Moscow is trying to implement a policy of reducing prices. According to preliminary information, an interim agreement will be signed. The agreement will be signed for at least three years.
The talks are continuing, but the details are kept in secret, because Russia has not agreed on the terms.”
Recall that Azerbaijan requires from Russia to increase the rent of the Gabala radar station for 43 times: from 7 million dollars to 300 million dollars.
