As Trend reports, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin and Prime Minister of Georgia, Bidzina Ivanishvili discussed the settlement of the Georgian-Russian relations in Tbilisi. As the Prime Minister’s Office told Trend, the meeting was held in the State Office behind closed doors.
Ivanishvili said after the meeting, he hopes for U.S. assistance in this process.
“We also discussed our bilateral relations and expressed hopes for their deepening,” he said. Ivanishvili stressed that the past 20 years have showed that the U.S. ‘is a true partner of Georgia’. “It was a warm and friendly meeting and I thanked Rubin for the help the U.S. provides to us,” he said.
