Today in the meeting with the journalists Hrant Bagratyan stated the gas price will be raised either from March or April 1. He stated there was no need to increase the gas price since the gas price from the borders reaching the people costs more than on the border and it is possible to reduce the inner expenses to prevent toe gas price increase. He added the government will not do so moreover 95% of the country is gasificated which was a gift from Karen Karapetyan. Who needed such a gift, Bagratyan said, if only 30% of the population will be able to use it? Bagratyan also mentioned Karapetyan was from “Gazprom” and the price was not $180 but $400 and that people use the gas by $420.
Bagratyan brought the example of Georgia, who is not the consumer of “Gazprom” but sells gas by 110 drams, while Armenia sells it 132 drams.
Bagratyan concluded stating the government has to be responsible for what it has done so far.
