As we know, yesterday during the telethon of the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund donations and pledges for 21 422 477 U.S. dollars were given. This year’s donation is less for about 8 million dollars than the amount raised last year, which was 30 million dollars. More than half of this amount, 12,100,000 dollars was raised in Russia, by the Russian Armenian businessmen.
Note that this year’s marathon is called “Our Village”, because the raised amount will be allocated to the construction of NKR rural community centers, and 10 percent of it, as was previously announced, will be allocated to the solution of Syrian-Armenians’ problems.
Information service of the fund informed “First News and Analyses” that the largest donation from the RF were by the owners of the RESO insurance company Nikolai and Sergei Sarkisov brothers, well- known businessman Levon Hayrapetyan, “Tashir” company owner Samvel Karapetyan, “Afina Chamber” Company Group Chairman Hayk Maghakelyan etc.
There were no allocations or promises from the well-known businessmen in Armenia for more than 1 million dollar. And in general, it seems that few oligarchs in Armenia made donations or pledges. Note that a large businessman, we can also say MP oligarch, leader of “Prosperous Armenia” party Gagik Tsarukyan did not donated any money during the telethon. When trying to get information about this issue from his spokesman Iveta Tonoyan, she turned off the phone after hearing our question, and did not respond to the further calls.
