RBK Daily informs Baghdasarov is selling “Armavia” and is aimed at finishing the deal within 2-3 weeks. Baghdasarov states the reason he sells the company has to do with the economic crisis and the Russian new SuperJet airplane financial damages. The businessman said there were no Russians interested in this business however Italian and other European sides are interested to purchase “Armavia”.
Armavia was founded in 1996 and in 2005 the whole package of the shares was transmitted to Mikhayil Baghdasarov – the president of “MIKA Limited”. The company had difficulties since last year when “Zvartnots” airport ceased accepting Armavia airplanes. The flights restarted on September 20, 2012 but the airport stopped them eventually On September 24.
