According to the President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, it is impossible to pursue pro-Russian policy in Georgia, since neither the old nor the new generation will agree. But, “if we do something like that and find ourselves in isolation from Europe and America, we will automatically become a very easy piece.”
The President expressed his concern about the recent arrests in Georgia and said that Georgia should not distance itself from the Euro-Atlantic space and be left alone.
“In 2008, we saved the Georgian statehood. But have I ever said that we won the war? But we saved the Georgian statehood, so that the occupant also did not win. How have we saved it? The whole world supported us, six presidents came, American ships moved to Georgia.” said the president, adding that the occupier “can easily find a new reason to do something against us for the second and third time.”
