Azerbaijani media, citing the announcement of Siyavush Novruzov, deputy executive secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party, reports that it is impossible to nominate a single candidate from the Azerbaijani opposition party.
“We have previously said that the opposition will not put up a single candidate,” he said adding “This is impossible because each leader of the opposition parties has ambitions and there is a struggle for power within their camp.”
The Popular Front Party and Musavat Party are exchanging accusations today as before, he said.
Novruzov added that if they once again nominate their candidates for presidency, it will just be another show.
The presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan in 2013.
