Referring to the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund’s annual telethon, publicist Vardan Jaloyan said that the telethon is not the same as before, because Diaspora is disappointed in Armenia, and especially in the authorities.
“The main goal of the foundation is to preserve Armenia-Diaspora relations. And we can say that it didn’t succeed. Over time our compatriots got more disenchanted by the authorities. Many people, who tried to set up a business here, just got disappointed. And here’s the result of a lack of confidence in the authorities that the business is running from Armenia.
We all remember the address of criticisms voiced by Charles Aznavour. It would be wrong to say that the Diaspora has no desire to help people, they have the desire, but the disappointment affects both the operation of the fund, and the Armenia-Diaspora relations.
