RSC director Richard Giragosian thinks Armenia is a more stable country than Georgia is, only that stability is not enough. The political analyst stated Armenia should not look at the US or Europe but to try to build its own democracy with and for the sake of the Armenians. A most important challenge is fighting against the oligarchic regime which enjoys an undeserved monopoly over the market.
Speaking about Kocharyan’s last interview, Giragosian stated that Kocharyan is very well aware of the oligarchic state in the country because it was his presidency that oligarchy started to flourish.
Giragosian also spoke of the US engagement in the region and mentioned Armenia should not expect the US to take the initiative as Russia already does it and concluded his speech highlighting the importance of Armenia to be pro-Armenian and not pro-US or pro-Russia.
