Secretary General of the National Movement Vano Merabishvili said that the arrest of Shota Khizanishvili is made only to put pressure on him.
As Merabishvili said at a special briefing today, Khizanishvili was his close friend even before he became vice-mayor nine years ago, heading the administration of the Georgian Interior Ministry. According to him, Khizanishvili is one of the noblest people and he will always be with him.
“He was arrested with the aim to put pressure on me personally, as he is my friend. We are on friendly terms with families. But Ivanishvili should know that by taking these steps he will sow fear and panic in our ranks. On the contrary, we will be even stronger and will not be frightened of Ivanishvili’s steps, “- said Vano Merabishvili.
