-At this stage, the main agenda of the political arena is the presidential election in 2013 and the PAP proposal to transfer to majoritarian-proportional electoral system and to the parliamentary system of government, and discussions are underway with representatives of other opposition forces.Ms. Achemyan what is it aimed at, initiating such discussions at this stage?
-It’s not the time when you can make changes to the system, that is, before the presidential elections such a revolutionary decision isnot to be carried out.This, of course, the right of the political party to make an announcement and unite.I think they want to unite the political forces around them and stress the importance of their role.We are comfortable with that, because I think political discussions between forces in all formats are only successful, even if futile, because it relieve tension between them, they begin to consider more constructively.
-Can we say that other tool of mobilization has been created like thejoint headquarters overseeing elections created before the National Assembly elections?
-Yes, because there is an intrigue, which should be preserved and continued until the presidential elections.But presidential elections are the most important thing for our party and we rejected the initiative of the parliamentary system, in the sense that it is not the time for it.I do not rule out the possibility that we may refer to these discussions later.Personally, I think that we still need the majoritarian electoral system.
-One of the PAP representatives noted thatthat the entire political field is waiting to see what Gagik Tsarukyan will decide. Are you waiting for that too?
-Even if you’re aware of everything and if something unexpected is to happen, you should not look forward it. First of all, if Tsarukyan had something to declare he should have already declared it, because very little time is left.
-If, for example, we recall how he signed a memorandum in February at the very last moment, we can assume that, according to his character, he may announce his nomination at the latest moment.
-It is also a strategy, to create an intrigue …
-So, to go to the airport to set off Serzh Sargsyan, saying dear President, dear President, and cheat people, that he tries to be a real alternative.I do not know how the alternative entered the political field.
-He entered this way: the PAP is not always against the president but the government, the Prime Minister, the program of the government, now the budget …We also have concerns, but they take very extreme measures.
-Why?
– I think they are doing it with confidence.
-In other words, the problem is the Prime Minister, if we change Sargsyan and give the post of prime minister them they will calm down.The problem is being absolutely solved.
– What are all the rest fighting for, you think?This years’ experience has shown that the people who are shouting now very loud and criticize us, are the former leaders, during which we were in very bad conditions.
