President of “New Times” party, Aram Karapetyan, during the “Armenia-Eurasian Union” discussion, held in Congress hotel, announced that Armenia should be integrated in Eurasian Union.
According to him, there is a huge trade market in the union and Armenia can’t be integrated in any such market which is so close to the country.
To the question whether the integration into Eurasian Union won’t be an obstacle for Armenia connected with EU, Karapetyan responded: “Your European Union annually makes a huge trade with Russia; 320 million dollars a year, and they urge Armenia not to get close to Russia, but they make such trades with Russia” said Karapetyan adding “I should stress that European Union and Eurasian Union are at an equal stage. In both cases Armenia will have the same impact but the thing is that in one case we will deal with Russia, in another case with Brussels and they can put any obstacles in front of us. Nothing is gained for free; you should do something in order to get anything.”
