David Shahnazaryan, during the “Armenia-Eurasian Union” discussion, held in Congress hotel, announced that for Russian president Vladimir Putin, this union is just a pre-election need.
According to him there are two main reasons why the idea of the union is being approached:
The first is connected with US. Currently the role of United States in the world security has been decreased.
The second reason is in European Union. There is a conflict and tense situation in the union and for Russia it is the best time to go forward. Shahnazaryan stressed that the main problem is connected with Ukraine, whether the country will be integrated in the union or not.
