NA ANC member Hrant Bagratyan said today that it is possible that Levon Ter-Petrosyan will run for president candidate. And why the ANC delayed the official announcement about this, Mr. Bagratyan urged to wait another one or two weeks and the ANC’s presidential candidate’s name will be revealed. The NA deputy did not want to give the candidate’s name, because, according to him, it may have a positive or negative impact on the negotiations between the parties on these days.
Referring to the transfer to parliamentary system of government ANC member said that he doesn’t see any chance of it in Armenia. “The government is divided between the President and the Prime Minister, 18 departments are given to the Prime Minister, about the same number the president directly appoints in the government. There is a question to clarify; the President either eliminates the position of Prime Minister and takes full responsibility on himself, or, indeed, gives the government to the Prime Minister. I think it is inappropriate, at least in this historical period. ”
To the observation that in the past the former prime minister was speaking more clearly Bagratyan said half serious, half joking, “I have got an intimate life.” And asked “with whom?” the former prime minister said with political ideas, and immediately stopped journalists’ laughter.
