Currently, NATO is not considering the issue of the placement of a missile defense system in the partner countries as a part of its missile defense system.
According to experts from NATO, this program, which provides defense against ballistic missiles, will cover the territory of NATO member countries. The program includes such features as prior warning, command, control, monitoring, surveillance and reconnaissance. The location of these systems, which require large financial means, is provided within the borders of NATO.
However, NATO considers possible the collaboration and exchange of information with partners in the field of missile defense.
Despite the fact that now the experts of the alliance are highly assessing the opportunities of Russia renting the Gabala radar station in Azerbaijan, they do not see it as part of NATO’s missile defense system.
