The Georgian media reports that the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz said that he welcomes Georgia’s attempts to build constructive relations with Russia. He talked to the prime minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili in Brussels, the press service of the Georgian Prime Minister said.
Georgian Prime Minister informed Schulz about the appointment of a special representative for negotiations with Moscow. Schulz praised this decision
Ivanishvili said that he is waiting for reciprocal steps from Russia.
Should be noted that the Georgian Prime Minister appointed a political scientist and diplomat Abashidze his special representative for the settlement of relations with Russia. Abashidze himself called the introduction of the post – willingness of the Georgian government to create a new independent channel of relationships with Russia.
