The Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayin referred to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in an interview with Iranian Mehr news agency.
“The Karabakh conflict is continuing for more than 20 years. The OSCE Minsk Group was established for its settlement, the developed mechanism of which for the conflict resolution is impracticable, and there is no other developed mechanism. In my opinion the OSCE Minsk Group has not provided objectivity, and the conflict remains unresolved.
OSCE Minsk Group uses the policy of delaying the resolution of the conflict over two decades, which does not match with the region’s security. I think that the countries of the region should participate in the settlement of the conflict, because trans-regional countries are not so interested in the settlement of the issue.
Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also could be useful in the conflict resolution process. Iran is expresses readiness to perform mission of mediator between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Iran will use all efforts to put an end to that resistance. We will be happy to assist in the conflict resolution. ”
