Georgian media, citing the announcement of Tbilisi Mayor’s Hall, reports that “New quarter of Tbilisi” initiated by Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will not be constructed.
The reasons for refusal to implement the multi-million dollar project are not disclosed.
Note, construction of the new district of the capital was planned to begin in 2013. Saakashvili announced this initiative at the opening of the “Tbilisi-Mall” shopping center.
