Today Serzh Sargsyan left for Syunik to be present at the Meghri HPP founding ceremony which was the result of Armenian-Iranian bilateral governmental decree to have a hydro power station on Araks river.
According to the agreement, the construction of the HPP will be finished in 5 years. The founding ceremony was carried out by the co-presidents of the intergovernmental joint commission Armen Movsisyan and Madjid Namdjun. After the ceremony Sargsyan met with the head of the Iranian delegation Madjid Namdjun. The president congratulated for the bilateral intergovernmental agreement and expressed his confidence for further development of the ties between the two countries. Madjid Namdjun also assured there will be further cooperations with Armenia on energetic and other spheres.
