RA National Association of Consumer called on government to make appropriate steps concerning bread prices.
Melita Hakopyan, president of the association, today met with the journalists and said that Armenia must have reserve fund of bread since Armenians are the people who eat more bread than Europeans or other nations do.
“Taking into account the current situation, Armenia must have reserve fund of bread for at least 6 months. If abroad people use about 100-150 grams of bread in Armenia it reaches 300-400 grams. The most important issue is that the price of the bread is being increased year by year, but its weight is being decreased” said Hakopyan adding “only 15 % of the breads, which are being sold in the shops, are packed, the others are not packed, which is not allowed.”
