Georgian Rustavi2 News Agency reports that the administration of the Georgian president has released a special video address regarding the latest developments in the country and Mikheil Saakashvili calls on everyone to respect the state institutions in the country.
The recent events are a source of concern for me. Now, more than ever, we need the rule of law. European orientation and development of Georgia are general categories; they are based on concrete criteria, which are, first of all, respect of human rights, institutions and the rule of law” , said Saakashvili in his special address.
According to Saakashvili, everybody is equal before the law and there are frames that should be observed.
He said that today’s’ developments will create obstacles for NATO integration process too.
After the elections we had a real chance to achieve success in NATO integration process. However, today’s developments do not assist this process – they create serious obstacles and I cannot be glad with it. We should stand above revenge and we should manage to talk to each other even when we have different opinions”, Saakashvili said.
The president expressed hope that the country`s further development will be maintained within the framework of a civilized dialogue.
