Analyst Musa Miqayelyan wrote an article concerning the latest development isn PAP-Republicans relations:
“Yesterday, November 8, the current ruling party, in the name of Eduard Sharmazanov, Republican MP, vice-president of NA, responded to PAP’s announcement. PAP announced that it wants to realize a project of parliamentary government and with it PAP can equally share the power with Serzh Sargsyan.
Republicans announced that they are not going to do such step; moreover, they made everybody understand that the author of the project is not PAP itself but Robert Kocharyan. Our second president wants to come to the power through PAP’s project. The most important thing is that no one dared to mention Kocharyan’s name, but from Sharmazanov’s speech it becomes clear that they have understood what is going on and addressed it to Kocharyan, however they didn’t mention his name. Kocharyan now is very confused and in a bad situation, he doesn’t know to respond or not to respond to the announcement made by Republicans against him. In both cases it won’t be good for Kocharyan; if he decides to respond, it will mean that he, with his hands, puts him in trouble and the government would blame Kocharyan for his actions, on the other hand if he doesn’t respond it means that he accepts the condemns of the government towards him. In any case Sargsyan won’t accept PAP’s offer and will try to keep the power only in his hands but the biggest question still remains Kocharyan’s answer to the republicans”.
