Azerbaijani sources report that the U.S. does not allow its own diplomats accredited in Armenia and Azerbaijan to visit Nagorno-Karabakh.
This was stated by the U.S. Embassy in Baku in response to the question whether it is possible that the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar visit Nagorno-Karabakh, to check the state of the Azerbaijani monuments.
A few days ago, the Azerbaijani government forbade Morningstar to visit Julfa Armenian Cemetery in Nakhijevan, where thousands of years ago Armenian cross-stones were destroyed. Back in June of this year, when Morningstar was not yet appointed to his current position, he promised to exert all efforts to visit Jugha.
