Yesterday the final discussions on the 2013 state budget were done in the NA. No representative from “Heritage” party was present because they were participating in Stepan Safaryan’s candidacy for the MP in Avan district. Instead, the representatives of “Liberal democrats” parties were present and “Hraparak” made an interview with Khacahtur Qoqobelyan to inquire their further deeds.
Qoqobelyan said the party still had no stand on the MP candidacy in Avan region. He mentioned the split between the “Liberal Democrats” and “Heritage” was a mutual damage and that every party is responsible for their steps. He expressed his view according to which time will show which one of the two wanted to go which way. During the interview Qoqobelyan also clarified there was no intention in the “Liberal Democrats” party to support Raffi Hovhannisian as a president candidate and in case his party intends to nominate a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections they will have to discuss it with the public first. To the question whether it can be possible that “Liberal Democrats” join other political powers during the elections, Qoqobelyan replied the opposition would benefit most if it presented one united candidate representing all the layers of the opposition. The MP also stated the party’s policies were held solely based on the interests of the Republic of Armenia and that no outer power has the right to intervene into the intra-state political procedures. As a conclusion, he stated he voted against the state budget because the latter was more of a degradation budget rather than the one for the interests of the public.
