1,000 large taxpayers provide 74% of the budget revenue. Today this was announced by the SRC Vice President Armen Alaverdyan during the 2013 budget discussions at the National Assembly.
ARF Deputy Artsvik Minasyan mentioned that even two years ago 240 billion tax potential was calculated by the World Bank, 2 years has passed and asked how much potential there is now.
A. Alaverdyan answered that the growth of tax revenue in 2012-13 comprises around 190 billion AMD, without legislative change, which is equal to the budget incomes in 2002. He proposed a sectored analysis, to bring calculations closer to reality.
“Everyone knows that there is a shadow economy, but everybody keep silent. 118 billion is a serious challenge. What is written on the paper can’t carry out itself,” noted Alaverdyan.
The answer didn’t satisfy Minasyan and she repeated her question, and received Ayvazyan’s question in return, “Why are you afflicted with potentia?”
“It is potential, not potentia,” Minasyan corrected Ayvazyan.
