Today First News and Analyses had an interview with Zaruhi Postanjyan, MP from “Heritage” faction, concerning upcoming presidential elections and the political party’s further actions.
Note, Raffi Hovahannisyan, leader of “Heritage” faction has already been nominated for the upcoming presidential elections.
Our journalist asked Postanjyan to comment on the nomination and to say whether they are not afraid to lose the elections.
“To have a fear is a virtue but being afraid is for losers. We do have fear within us, but we are not afraid to participate in the elections. Our nation will support us, since they also want to have a free country. It is already 20 years that we live under cruel conditions. It must be changed. Our candidate, Raffi
Hovhannisyan is the one of the few who can take all the responsibilities on his shoulders and support our nation and make good conditions for our future generation” said Postanjyan.
The journalist recalled that during the parliamentary elections, Heritage, along with Free Democrats Party hardly managed to pass the elections, and asked MP comment how could they nominate a candidate for presidential elections after that difficult elections?
“It was difficult elections but getting 100 thousand votes, in the situation where the votes are being sold is a great achievement. In such condition getting that much votes is a victory. We don’t afraid of the “war” and we will go till the end” said Postanjyan adding “We won’t change our decision and won’t support anybody else. We have already made our decision and the only honorable candidate for us is Raffi Hovhannisyan”.
In the end Postanjyan commented on the statement made by Eduard Sharmazanov, Republican MP, and vice-president of RA NA.
Sharmazanov earlier announced that the opposition and all the other candidates, except Serzh Sargsyan (current president of Armenia) will only compete for second place.
Postanjyan said that everything is possible in this life and called on Sharmazanov not to be sure of his announcement.
