Azerbaijani media, citing the announcement made by Azerbaijani deputy transport minister Musa Panakhov , reports that after its construction, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars transport corridor can be used to transport the equipment, used in the anti-terrorist operations of the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF).
As reported, earlier Panakhov along with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov met at NATO headquarters to inform ISAF member states about transporting servicemen, ammunition and equipment through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
This is in relation to the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in connection with the ISAF operations in 2014.
