Turkish media reports that Turkish representative in NATO, Onur Saylan, speaking at the seminar held in Yerevan as part of the week of NATO on 5 November, noted that the start to normalization of ties between Yerevan and Ankara should be regarded as the reflection of interest to establishing stability, security and peace.
According to him the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations depends on the political conditions in the region.
“Everyone knows the way the protocols were signed and what followed then. The promotion of the process depends on the political conditions in the region”, said the Turkish representative.
Note, the protocols on normalization of ties between Armenia and Turkey were signed in Zurich, Switzerland, on October 10, 2009.
However, the protocols ratification process was frozen in the parliaments of the two countries.
