Former Foreign Minister of Armenia, “Prosperous Armenia” parliamentary faction deputy Oskanian again refused to give testimony in the National Security Service (NSS).
This time, the NSS staff is interested in the claim of “Civilitas” spread on November 2 that persecution against “Civilitas” foundation and Oskanian began in 2009.
The foundation has several examples proving this hypothesis pointed in the statement. The NSS is especially interested in one of them, according to which in 2009 Oskanian was elected board member of one of Armenia’s commercial banks, but by the threat of bankruptcy the majority shareholders were forced to subtract Oskanian from the board membership. His lawyer said that there has been the country’s top leadership intervention in this issue.
“NSS has tried to interrogate Mr. Oskanian, but he did not give evidence in that regard,” said lawyer Atanesyan.
Oskanyan was also informed today by NSS that they will check his bank accounts.
