Employees of the Poti Port on the Black Sea coast of Georgia are continuing to strike which they started on Thursday. They are demanding higher wages and better working conditions.
The striking workers at the Georgian port of Poti on the Black Sea coats are not going to resume work until the port management meets their demands. The port of Poti has been paralysed by 70 per cent strike for the fifth day already.
“The strike is in nobody’s interest. We again call the port management to a constructive dialogue. One of the most strategic sites in Georgia has been blocked for four days. We can imagine what damage it does to everyone, including us,” committee member Gocha Cheminava said to InterpressNews on Monday.
