Georgian media, citing the announcement made by Minister of Penal Executions, Sozar Subari, reports that strict measures will be taken in regard to any prisoner who does not comply with the law.
According to the minister, currently the situation in the prisons is calm:
“Nothing is currently happening in the prisons. However, tensions are artificially fermented outside of the prisons. We decided not to take tough measures for a few days, but from now on we will use all measures prescribed by law,” said Subari adding “six prisoners who tried to organize riots in Ortachal prison N1, will be prosecuted and punished in accordance with law.”
According to him, those who break the law outside the prison will also be punished according to the law. The minister also warned that holding protest actions within 20 meters from the prison is prohibited and these attempts will be stopped and punished by administrative means.
