“Armavia” flights are being suspended from time to time, because of the debts the company had accumulated throughout years. The problem was handled not because of the bilateral negotiations between “Zvartnots” and “Armavia” but was a result of the government intervention.
Jasmen Vilyan, Mikhayil Baghdasarov’s advisor, confirmed the information and told First News and Analyses that “Armavia” is eager to gradually close the debts if there were not for “Zvartnoc” obstacles which frustrate the passengers. The reason for the canceling of the “Armavia” flights actually has nothing to do with debts. According to First News and Analyses sources, “Sibiravia” that run “Armavia” flights had bigger debts but the flights were not suspended constantly. The sources inform the problems started after Baghdasarov announced he is going to sell the company. A number of Italian, Austrian, Russian, Indonesian companies are negotiating to acquire the company, but the most probable candidate is Ernesto Ernekyan who deliberately reduces the price of the company referring to the malfunctioning of the latter.
