It’s a long time that the subject of who has imported 500 tons of artificial hymen to Armenia is being discussed, though the specialists insist that the news on importing hymen is a fantasy. The news is denied by the State Income Committee as well.
The head of Motherhood and Reproduction department of RA Health Ministry Gayane Ayvazyan in the interview with “Zhoghovurd” said that the lie to be a virgin comes from centuries. The Egyptian women imitated being virgins by containers filled with dove blood. “The first artificial hymen was first created in 1993 in a Japan town. Today there are more than 450 companies. It has natural origin; it can be placed in vagina without any mediation. It gets moisture, assimilated and turns into reddish color.’- explained the doctor.
