As noted in the conversation with “First News and Analyses” member of the committee to support Syrian-Armenian Varuzhan Masarajyan the center was established to provide assistance to Armenians returning from Syrian to Armenia.
“Personally, I returned from Aleppo 9 years ago, and as long as the war in Syria continues, and now more and more Armenians will return. I should also note that most of them want to settle in Armenia. We help you to rent apartments. This is the primary and most important problem. But the government should also try to provide workplaces for them.
More than 400 families have applied to us. We have been able to provide necessary assistance to 95 percent of the families.”
As it is known, there is another organization to support Syrian-Armenians, created by the ARF “Help your brother” organization.
Varuzhan Masarajyane talked about the differences between these two organizations. “We definitely encourage any organization which provides assistance to Syria. We have never talked with members of “Help your brother” organization, but I know that they sent food and essential medicines to Aleppo, and we try to help returned Syrian-Armenians. Consequently, there cannot be any competition. We are supported and financed by the Armenian Charitable Foundation. We have no connection with the parties and we have not received any support so far, but if it happens we will be only happy to welcome.”
According to Varuzhan Masarajyan, the war in Syria will last long, and therefore this organization still has much work to do.
