Today Serzh Sargsyan invited a meeting with the participation of the law enforcement authorities regarding the situation in the criminal cases’ investigation. Apart from mentioning the some anti-criminal case achievements, Sargsyan strictly criticized current negative phenomena because of particular attorneys, whose irresponsibility and malevolence distort the regular issuing processes.
“A couple of defendants turn to witnesses under the connivance of the attorney, not even the connivance but the support of the latter. Instead of preventing the crime, the attorney commits another and appears in an investigation. And nobody takes any responsibility for that: neither the head of the office, nor the prosecutor’s office authority who based on his professional duties should have carried out an inspection over the attorney’s activities”, noted the president.
By the end of the conference Serzh Sargsyan emphasized he expects a proactive approach from the Attorney General of the RA, the deputies to the general attorney and from the trustees of the investigation.”I expect everyone to be principal on their professional stand. Everyone must have a responsibility and that responsibility must be fixed”, Sargsyan mentioned.
