On Monday secretary general of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Mammadali Efendiyev said at a workshop on entrepreneurs’ export potential development in Baku that Azerbaijan intends to cooperate with European countries to increase the export of non-oil products.
“The production of non-oil products in Azerbaijan is on the rise year after year. We are interested in searching for new foreign partners to enhance the export potential of small and medium enterprises, that is non-oil exports, as well as to study the experience of European countries in this field.” he said.
He also noted that Azerbaijan aims to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Expert Henry Zimmerman from Germany, participating in a workshop in Azerbaijan, said there is significant potential for non-oil exports. However, small and medium entrepreneurs must work more to develop this area.
The workshop was attended both by local businessmen, and the experts from Germany and Spain.
